Markets: Sensex Decline By 100 Points

New Delhi: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday decline for the fifth straight day by 104 points at 60,717.24 in the opening trade.

Meanwhile, the Nifty too eased by 40 points at 18,074.90. However, at 10 AM, the Nifty 50 index slipped below the 18,000-mark at 17,981, down over 100 points.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 61,404.99 and 60,710.95 points respectively, while the Nifty recorded the days high and low at 18,241.40 and 18,049.65 points respectively.

The Small Cap declined by 1.33 percent and Mid Cap by 1.39 percent.

24 declined, while 6 advanced in 30 scrips.

The losers were Bajaj Auto by 1.98 per cent to Rs 3788.80, Bajaj Auto by 1.98 per cent to Rs 3788.80, HCL Technology by 2.35 per cent to Rs 1166.05, Kotak Bank by 1.95 per cent to Rs 2128.90 and Indusind Bank by 2.58 per cent to Rs 1165.

Axis Bank by 2.01 per cent to Rs 833.35, M& M by 1.55 per cent to Rs 899.50, ICICI Bank by 7.31 per cent to Rs 814.60 and NTPC by 0.24 per cent to Rs 145.25 were in the list of gainers.
